Another Pi Beta Phi national philanthropy project that Missouri Alpha Chapter supports is Champions Are Readers® (CAR). Designed to create an interactive reading and mentoring relationship between Pi Phis and children from their local communities, CAR engages children in a positive reading experience and allows participants to accommodate students’ varying academic needs. Chapter members take time throughout the year to visit and read to school children. The chapter also hosts book donation events as part of this initiative.
